Rationale

After compiling a research report in to carbon fibre it was decided that some form of support or walking aid made from the material would be highly beneficial to people having mobility difficulties. The light weight high tensile strength of the material would offer unmatched qualities whilst also offering the possibility of a bespoke design in comparison to those standardised designs available on the market. The preconception is that carbon fibre a normally perceived inaccessible and specialist material used only in the likes of super cars, high performance sports equipment and expensive products in general on its head. The aid would serve those with less money and greater need.

Brief

The solution should be a product that offers an alternative to the poorly considered designs on the market, giving the user a more satisfactory and centric design that benefits them in everyday situations. The age range use of the aid should be between 10 - 90 years abiding by the current British and International Standards in place which stipulates it must support weights up to 120 kg (18.9 stone).
